NBeebies: Presenter Hunt: Preschool channel looking for new Presenter

NBeebies has an annual nationwide search for a new presenter called "NBeebies: Presenter Hunt". All year, NBC's national preschool channel "your parents want you to watch" wants actors, singers, presenters, and fans to send in a 60-second audition video.

Broadening our search and uploading videos on YouTube is an incredibly fun way to discover new talent and engage our audience. Actually ... I was a presenter on Nick Jr's live preschool block KIDS for three years (2010-2012), and I'm a big fan of NBeebies since I was a baby. Should I throw my hat into the ring?

Backdoor Pals

Georgie the orange hippo has friends called Backdoor Pals.

My dad says I can't watch Georgie anymore because he's innapropriate. He says I should be watching something kid friendly like Baby Genius.

Top 10 TV Shows for Babies

Educational and Fun TV Shows for Babies

These shows can teach babies social skills and good habits.

1. Sesame Street 

Probably the oldest kids show. It started in 1969 and has won many awards. There are many characters educating kids about letters and numbers.

2. Scooby Doo
Not just the babies but this show can be nogilastic for all of us. Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, and Fred travel around in their mystery machine solving problems looking so adorable.

3. Daniel Tiger
It's based on Mr. Roger's Neighborhood and features some of the characters, all grown up, and their kids. Daniel teaches social skills such as going to the bathroom.

4. Teletubbies

It's about 4 characters with TVs in their tummies where they watch real kids' stories.

5. Hey Duggee

This show highlights teamwork and problem solving skills. Duggee is an adorable character who runs a day camp and then the fun begins.

6. Jiggijump

Please do show this one to your kids because it mixes dancing and animation and then cooling down afterwards.

7. The Moblees

 Story about 5 cute Moblees named Carlin Caterpillar, Bailey Butterfly, Dasha Dog, Gisbert Grasshopper, and Sylvio Snake. the Moblees not only highlight the importance of moving, but also solve problems by being imaginative.

8. Baby Genius

Uses Nursery Rhymes and Children's songs to help Babies' minds grow.

9. Playschool

I actually hate this series even though it ran long. It started in Australia and has won many awards to count.

10. Tom and Jerry

An all time favorite of everyone after Scooby Doo. It teaches kids the spirit of friendship with the famous Cat and Mouse duo,

CBeebies: The Top 12 Shows

CBeebies is a famous British UK Children's Channel formed in Salford in 2002. The Channel's Merchandise have been produced independently. Alton Towers even has a CBeebies theme park!



12. Swashbuckle

Picture this - Crystal Maze (and Splatalot) being aimed at 4 year olds, was pirate-themed, was presented by the most enthusiastic women in the universe, and featured commentary from Conor McNarma off BBC Radio. Then you'd get this amazing pirate game show - Swashbuckle!

11. Yo Gabba Gabba

What if Dancealot was aimed at 5 year olds, had performances from celebrities such as Paul Williams, and was presented by a black person in orange? Then you'd get Yo Gabba Gabba! They may be funny if your kids say play again, but its candy colored characters effective.

10. Hey Duggee

CBeebies features this show about a big dog as a preschool teacher and some "squirrels" who go on adventures earning badges. Hey Duggee is about social interactions and friendship, while other CBeebies shows... Go CBeebies!

9. Me Too

Balamory or Me Too? Eternal Question. Both shows feature people with jobs telling their stories and solving problems - but  while Balamory takes place on a fictional isle, Me Too! takes place at the real city of Riverseafingal, England. Balamory has a Sesame Street-style flavor, while Me Too is more educational (it teaches problem solving). Why is it here? My Dad's "nickname" is also the name of the bus cleaner.

8. Octonauts

Octonauts features a Cat, Polar Bear, and Penguin going on adventures defeating baddies in their octopod underwater. Plus, It has a Thunderbirds-style flavor with an educational merit interesting its viewers at home.




7. Mister Maker

Basically, SMarteenies and this both have the "Make and Do" feature. Presented by Phil Gallagher. The crafts effective and humor sometimes funny. I am a Shape!


6. Balamory

A live action program aimed at kids age 1 and up (there's a wheelchaired person on it). Why Balamory? It's filmed in Tobermory, Mull! It's also named after La Balamory, the Virginia city I live in!

5. Go Jetters
For anyone who survived life with an Octonauts obsessed toddler, time to introduce them to a more similar concept. Xuli, Kyan, Lars, and Foz try to travel the world with a disco unicorn named Ubercorn. They learn about famous places around the world and try to watch out for Grandmaster Glitch...

4. Tweenies
Yo Gabba Gabba or Tweenies? Obvious. Both feature the voice of Bob Goulding and Justin Fletcher (Mr Tumble) (and Adam Deibert). But while Yo Gabba Gabba aired in the US, Tweenies aired in the UK. Yo Gabba Gabba has punk rock music, while Tweenies has a similar style.

3.Charlie and Lola
A series about a Boy and his little sister who he convinces to try new things. Lola keeps saying silly stuff like "I will never, not ever eat a Tomato" or "I am not sleepy and I will not go to bed", making it the CBeebies show with the longest episode titles.

2. Show Me, Show Me

basically Play School 2.0. (Play School is no longer making new episodes and only runs in repeats). Presented by Chris Jarvis (Step Inside, Fully Booked) and Pui Fan Lee (Teletubbies), it's a charming, engaging series aimed at very young preschoolers. If older kids are angry they're too old for CBeebies, give Show Me, Show Me a shot!

1. In the Night Garden

 Finally, this classic must be mentioned in any list of CBeebies shows. The show features strange Doctor Who-like thingies (the Ninky Nonk and Pinky Ponk), is aimed at 0-5 year olds, and is narrated by Derek Jacobi.

Yes, Hey, My Baby’s Smart! has been revived. There’s also some new characters! We don’t know what network it would air on (probably one of the Big Three (ABeebies, NBeebies, and CBeebies)).
